Lung Ti Studio, also known as 蓉緹工坊, was founded in 2013 by artist Nina Li (Li Rong-Duan) with a vision to share the beauty of pewter embossing with a wider audience. Rooted in traditional craftsmanship, the studio reimagines age-old techniques through a contemporary lens, blending precision with poetry.
The name “RongTi” draws inspiration from rong (芙蓉), symbolizing softness, and ti (緹花), evoking the intricacy of woven patterns—together reflecting a spirit of elegance, tenderness, and poetic detail.
Specializing in embossed pewter art, the studio explores the material’s flowing forms and luminous textures through techniques such as layered pressing, relief work, and hand carving. Each piece begins as a moment of quiet perception, then unfolds into a tactile artwork imbued with emotion—bringing a gentle presence and sense of healing into daily life.
Over the past decade, Lung Ti Studio has evolved through custom commissions, hands-on workshops, and cross-material experimentation. From its humble beginnings in a small classroom to artisan markets, exhibitions, and creative collaborations, “RongTi” has become more than a name—it is a philosophy of sincerity, slowness, and human touch, allowing metal art to quietly resonate in the spaces and hearts it enters.
Today, the journey continues under the name RONTI by Nina Li, with pewter remaining at the heart of an ever-deepening exploration into mixed media and contemporary poetic expression.
