It is a successful non-profit organization headquartered in Lalitpur, Nepal.
Established in 1989 with financial and technical assistance from UNICEF to promote and sell Nepali handicrafts. After about two years, it became an independent operation and is currently growing steadily.
The group's product lines and sales continue to grow, demonstrating the success of the Fairtrade industry.
Our products are exported to the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore and other countries.
We are also actively involved in the fair trade community and are a founding member of Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTG) and a member of the World Fair Trade Organization.
The main goal is to support product planning and marketing by Nepali handicraft producers, mainly women working on a small scale. Other goals include:
・Protecting Nepal’s rich arts and crafts skills
・Promote export of Nepalese handicrafts
・Encourage and support handicraft producers
・Provide appropriate professional training workshops
・Economic growth promotes handicrafts across the country, especially in areas with lower levels of poverty
・Identify traditional handicrafts from various parts of Nepal and promote their high quality products
・Provide appropriate financial and technical assistance to craftsmen.
