"Neriage" is a technique in which colorful clay that has been colored with pigments is kneaded together and patterns are created using the centrifugal force and the expansion and contraction of the clay when pulled on a potter's wheel. The patterns that are produced vary depending on how the clay is kneaded and the time and effort spent on turning the wheel, allowing you to enjoy the unexpected discoveries that occur at each stage. This time, I aimed to create a vivid sunset gradation. The soil was layered to evoke the blue and pink colors of the sky as the sun sets. The clay used is coarse white clay. You can enjoy the texture and feel that only pottery can provide. The glaze used is a transparent glaze with a beautiful luster. This bowl is large enough to be used as both a teacup or a cafe au lait bowl. The cute round shape and soft curves make it comfortable to hold in both hands. Perfect for lots of tea, coffee, or cafe au lait. You can also add ice to enjoy a generous amount of your drink. I use a small electric kiln and an electric potter's wheel at home to make my pottery, and I do all of the processes by hand, from kneading the clay to shaping, bisque firing, glazing, and final firing. Because the pattern varies from time to time, each piece is unique and no two pieces can be made exactly the same. The item you receive will be the same as the product image. Using a variety of glazes and clays, I create a wide range of pottery in a variety of colors and shapes, searching for the best combinations.
