Housed in a timeworn building in Taiwan Hsinchu, Citilens Studio (見域工作室) seeks to let more people appreciate the beauty of the city and raise awareness on differnt issues, including the management of historical assets, traffic planning, and other initiatives for building a better city.
The group was named after the Japanese toy kendama, since the Mandarin Chinese word for kendama, jian-yu (劍玉), is pronounced the same as“seeing the region(見域), symbolizing their efforts to promote local culture. Their small work shop is also a creative space where residents and visitors can exchange stories about Hsinchu.
