This vintage pendant from the UK in the 1950s is made of sterling silver and inlaid with moss agate.
Moss agate is known for its unique irregular patterns. These veins often resemble moss or ferns. These unique inclusions are usually minerals such as amphibole, Stone, iron oxide or manganese oxide, which become trapped in the growth layers of chalcedony during the crystallization process and form natural veins.
The oval pendant can be opened and closed left and right. One side of the agate inlaid on both sides is more translucent, showing free dark green stripes, while the other side is richer and saturated in color, revealing different tonal changes. Both sides can be worn and can show completely different looks. Since there is no glass interlayer inside, it is not suitable for storing objects and using as a photo pendant.
The piece is in good condition as an old piece, with normal signs of oxidation and wear. The oxidation and use marks on the inner layer are more obvious, so it is an old piece of jewelry and not in brand new condition.
