"A time for everything" 2019 Calendar in Japanese & English | Jan - Dec 2019

Thank you God for your inspiration and motivation of creating a 2019 watercolor calendar with Share Artually named ' A Time for Everything '. From experiencing depression to getting the topics from bible, writing Japanese calligraphy, re-defining the colors, also from painting to design and layout, we finally completed “A Time for Everything” as the topic of 2019 calendar based on Ecclesiastes 3:1-15. It is a love reminder of a new year. This is May from Hong Kong, currently living in Tokyo. I am a Christian artist. My husband, Billy and I have been living in Tokyo since last December. And I was experiencing home sick and depression this June. I was not sure why I had to go through this until one day I was woken up by God through the bible verses from Ecclesiastes 3:1-15. **A Time for Everything** 1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: 2 a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, 3 a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, 4 a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, 5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, 6 a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, 7 a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. 9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. 13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. So I just felt alive again! The most important thing is, whenever we experience a down time, **God is always with us because He loves us so much.” ** After sharing about this tough time on social media, some people came to me and told me that they had also had the same experience for over a year. Some of them are going through it. Some of my Japanese friends shared that most of the people in Tokyo are quite lonely and isolated. I am thankful that I only experienced it for 2 months. And I finally understand why I have to experience it so that I can understand God's people in Japan. It seemed like God wanted me to feel and understand fully of His people’s lonely hearts in Tokyo. **He has shown us His mercy and love through different stages of journey. ** https://static.wixstatic.com/media/44eeeb_bc1c7512b4cf4df8bc10e0aad77479a2~mv2.jpg So I wanted to share this “beautiful” story through my artworks, and **bless the people in Japan and also for whoever is experiencing ups and downs now, God is always with you. ** Come to the project, I have made a 2019 Japanese calligraphy calendar with English verses based on the Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 called ** “A time for everything” **. Initially, I was thinking to do western calligraphy like what I usually do. One morning, God wanted me to try to do Japanese calligraphy. **Ever since that day, God gave me ideas every day until it is done. And the rainbow is the promise of God. Even it seemed to be a “bad” experience in the beginning, we could always learn from it in order to become a better person. God has the best clock for everyone of us. His love makes us strong. As we study through the Bible, we’ll see God giving His people visible signs to help them remember His covenant promises.
