Nanbu tekki Itchudo tetsubin japanese cast iron kettle stone garden 0.8L - Teapots & Teacups - Other Metals Black

Product Description

This square-shaped tetsubin has a beautiful form and is made with attention to detail. Although small in size, it has a sturdy and massive structure. It would be fashionable and nice to display it as an interior decoration. This tetsubin features a design of a 「stone garden」 which is one of the compositions of Karesansui (dry landscape garden). Karesansui is a Japanese garden that expresses a landscape of flowing water using stones and sand. The corner surface of the tetsubin expresses the sand pattern depicted in Karesansui. The lid is also decorated with a sand pattern. The lid is an ubakuchi type that fits inside the body. Tetsubin are made by matching the top and bottom or left and right molds, and it is more difficult to join the square molds than the round molds. Tetsubin are made with advanced techniques. The inside is finished with a rust-resistant finish using the traditional 「kama-yaki」 technique. Kamayaki is done by firing the tetsubin in a high-temperature oven. This process forms an oxide film on the surface of the tetsubin. The oxide film stabilizes the iron content of the tetsubin. The flavor of boiled water is improved and rust and corrosion are prevented. Rust-proofing by kettle firing is a traditional technique that has been handed down since ancient times. Natural lacquer baking finish on the outside. Natural lacquer baking finish is a traditional method of applying natural lacquer to the surface of the tetsubin and firing it. This process protects the surface of the tetsubin from rust and stains. Natural lacquer is also highly durable and keeps the texture and color of the tetsubin beautifully for a long period of time. The capacity is approximately 0.8L, a slightly smaller size. It is the ideal size for a small tea time or a cup of tea for one or two people. The heat source is gas compatible. ※It cannot be used with IH. The handle can be collapsed. It is also convenient for storage.
