Basket bag/Ikkanbari/Remade from a Satsuma Shiranami Shochu apron/Light brown interior/Apron strings on handle/Free cloth drawstring bag/Slightly large

I create my works based on the traditional Japanese craft of Ikkanbari. Ikkanbari is a method of decorating a basket product with white washi paper, then decorating it with colored washi paper or cloth, and finally applying persimmon tannins and water-based varnish. It is a craft that requires finishing. Many of the pieces use old fabrics and paper, but my work uses more everyday materials. This is a remake of an apron from the Satsuma Shiranami Shochu brand in Kagoshima Prefecture. The lettering on the apron is cut out and arranged using brown washi paper as the base, and the inside is covered with light brown washi paper. A cloth drawstring bag is attached to change the look and hide the contents.
