The location of Bamberg's old town hall is curious,
It is situated on an artificial island in the Regnitz River,
Standing on a high stone pedestal
It is a medieval timber-truss building with a beautiful rococo structure.
The walls are decorated with Baroque murals, which are both magnificent and unique.
According to legend, the bishop of Bamberg did not provide land for the citizens to build the town hall.
So the citizens drove in with wooden piles and built an artificial island in the Regnitz River.
And they built the town hall they so much wanted on the island,
The Old Town Hall features the famous Rococo Hall and the Ludwig Collection,
The museum houses Meissen porcelain and Strasbourg painted pottery.
The small pottery house perfectly replicates the original architectural spirit,
Presenting rich imprints in every detail,
This old town hall shows the power of the will of the people,
Sacred and not to be ignored.
