About 4,000 years ago, a large stellar fragment fell to Campo del Cielo in the province of Chaco, Argentina, hence the name Campo meteorite.
Campo is a large falling body. When it passed through the earth's atmosphere, it exploded into a meteor shower due to the high temperature of friction, and countless fragments fell to the ground. The third and fourth largest single meteorites found in the world are the Campo Falls, which are Gancedo at 30.8 tons and El Chaco at 28.8 tons.
