Is it a vat of deep blue dye soup, the dye shop on Sanxia Old Street, or the Hakka people’s long gown?
Indigo dyeing was once an important product of Taiwan's trade
After half a century of silence, it now shows its modern style with its craftsmanship
In this course, the dyeing and weaving department will lead everyone to learn techniques such as clip dyeing and tie dyeing.
Dip the fabric into the dye by hand to complete the indigo dyeing work
From telling the history of the development of indigo dyeing in Taiwan
Understanding the differences between natural indigo dyeing and chemical indigo dyeing
to tying, designing and dyeing
Let’s immerse ourselves in the indigo dyeing process and discover the beauty of dyeing and weaving!

Natural indigo mud, artificial alkali agent, artificial reducing agent
|Experience Content|
1. Understanding the indigo dyeing process
2. Learning the techniques of clip dyeing and tie dyeing
3. Dyeing Techniques and Practice
4. Cleaning and unpacking to complete the beautiful blue dyeing work
|Works|
1 pure cotton tablecloth (size about 60 x 60 cm)
1 A4 bag (approximately 29 x 33 cm)
Knotted shoulder strap 1 piece

|Experience time|
The experience lasts about 1.5 hours, and the actual end time will be adjusted depending on the number of people and the dyeing progress
|Suitable for|
Anyone who is interested in handcrafting can participate (at least 5th grade and above)
Small class teaching, 6 people per session
