A copy of an antique French parchment handwritten in 1743 during the period of King Louis XV of France
Parchment is made of sheepskin or calfskin. Around 170 BC, King Eumenes II of the ancient Anatolian country of Pergamon was the first to use parchment. Sheepskin was treated with lime, the wool was sheared, and then softened with pumice to create this new writing material. The English name of parchment "parchment" comes from the name of this city.
This is a French handwritten parchment scroll dating back 281 years. Antique documents collected in many European museums are this kind of parchment scroll.
I once collected French parchment rolls and ancient paper rolls that were over 200 years old. After analyzing their characteristics, I found that the material of the parchment rolls is actually more resilient than the ancient paper rolls, and the edges of the parchment rolls will not become mushy like those of ancient paper rolls due to the friction of time. Yes, it can be taken out more often and used as a background for taking photos. It is also suitable for framing.
There are four sheets of paper in this document (8 pages of content)
Size: about 28.7x21.5cm
Year: 1743 (Louis XV period), around the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty
#The content has not been deciphered. I do not understand French, but there are obvious keywords mentioned in the content, such as royal family (Royaux) and king (Roy). The antique dealer told me that the content of this document should be the same as that of Paris. There is a relationship between churches, these are the only information I know.
#Sold without other photos
#This kind of sheepskin scroll appears very beautiful when illuminated by light.
The traces of objects from 281 years ago are very obvious, and those who can accept them will buy them.
