**Formosan Landlocked Salmon**
Sakura Hooked Salmon, also known as Taiwan Salmon, Lishan Trout, or Bunban (Atayal), is a unique subspecies of Sakura Salmon in Taiwan. It was marked as a natural monument during the Japanese occupation period and known as "National Treasure Fish".
Sakura salmon is also an ecological indicator of Taiwan; in addition to being local evidence of climate change and warming, its existence also projects the environment of mountain streams. Once extinct, it means that the ecological environment of Taiwan is facing a serious imbalance.
**IUCN level: Critical (CR)**
