According to Bunun’s legend, their ancestors encountered an irresistible flood that almost killed all of the tribe. At the end of the legend, their ancestors were rescued by hiding in a cave of Mount.Jade, where the Bunun call it as "Tongku Saveq". Which means "A place of refuge".
