Let's make a lucky thimble charm (tassel) to protect you! - Create tassels by selecting from 60 original color threads ・7 minutes walk from the north gate of Nijo Castle ・We will help you create wonderful memories with detailed instruction and video recording (free of charge) ・You will also be asked to paint the white porcelain that will become the tassel head ornament using colorful nail polish or gel. The instruction will be provided by Art Fiber Endo, a craft material specialty store in Nishijin, Kyoto. The shop is within walking distance of Nijo Castle, a World Heritage Site, and the surrounding area is a quiet residential area with Kyoto machiya townhouses scattered here and there. The standard plan involves choosing one color from the wide variety of threads displayed in the store and assembling a tassel under the guidance of an instructor. The finished piece will be the size of a charm to attach to a bag. The final step in the plan is to paint a white porcelain piece that will become the tassel head ornament using nail art, which will then be incorporated into the tassel decoration. The white porcelain used for drawing the nail art is made of Kutani ware, a traditional Japanese craft. This is a very unique classroom. [Activity Schedule] ① Gathering and reception Please come into the store and complete the check-in process. ②Explanation of the experience Explain the work (5 minutes) ③Contents of the experience ・You can choose your favorite color from 60 colors of threads available. (5 minutes) ・Make the hanging cord and tassel thread for the tassels (30 minutes) ・You will paint a white porcelain head ornament with your nails. (10 minutes) ・Finally, insert the white porcelain into the tassel and it's complete.
