Tracing back to the early days of British colonial rule in Hong Kong, the original site of Queen's Pier was a simple wooden jetty called "Queen's Statue Wharf". As it was located in front of the Statue Square, the British Hong Kong government officially named it Queen's Pier after the reconstruction in 1924. What is the historical significance of the Queen's Pier? The Queen's Pier witnessed Hong Kong's history as a British colony. Not only did it witness the changes to the coastline due to reclamation works in Central, it was also the venue for British royal ceremonies. Traditionally, when a new governor of Hong Kong took office, they would first arrive at the Queen's Pier before participating in the welcoming ceremony and swearing-in ceremony held at Edinburgh Place and Hong Kong City Hall. More about the Queen's Pier 1925 - 31 July 2007 A public pier for mooring of small vessels, classified as a Grade 1 historic building. The Queen's Pier officially closed on 26 April 2007 to make way for the Central Reclamation Phase III. Its demolition sparked some public discontent, with some conservationists camping out and hanging "No Relocation, No Demolition" banners to protest. The HKSAR government cleared the site on 1 August, resulting in the pier's demise. **About Shipping** Local Orders (Hong Kong): Default shipping method - Hong Kong Post's "Local Ordinary Mail" - Delivery typically takes two to five working days.
