The theme is bags made by craftsmen, for craftsmen. Not only is it stylish, it is also a functional bag with sorting pockets for many stuffs and shock-absorbing material on the bottom. The bag's opening is characterized by a German-made brass hook.
The name, “Smith Bag” comes from the fact that in the old days the workers in England who makes things out of metal by heating with a hammer were called “Smith”. The name, “Smith Bag” is currently under trademark registration.
That said, the bag can also be used on an everyday basis, not just for craftsmen.
After all, when everyone works, they become craftsmen in a sense, with their own skills and knowledge. We chose this name because we hope that everyone will be able to work feeling like they are the protagonist craftsman.
Material
Both the outer layer and lining are water-repellent paraffin canvas with wax melted into them, which repels water and is hard so it can stand on its own. It is a strong one-piece construction with no seams at the bottom. It is wrinkled and crisp, but the canvas will soften as you use it over time. Specially the sewing thread in vintage tone is used.
The outer canvas fabric is available in five colors: navy, beige, ecru, black, and dark green. The lining is beige, which is the same for all color models.
The leather in camel and black is Italian vegetable-tanned leather. Especially the handle is luxuriously made by 3.5mm thick one-piece leather and the opening are also piped with Italian vegetable-tanned leather. The thick but flexible handle can be chosen to be a short size that can only be carried by hand, or a long size that can be carries over the shoulder. The fastener at the bag opening is a brass one-touch hook used to fasten the top of luxury German cabriolet. It clicks into place to prevent the bag from opening, and can be released by pulling the knob towards. It's large enough to easily grip even when wearing gloves.
“Smith Bag” has a key double ring so that you can attach keys, etc. The leather handle is secured with brass rivets, the same type used for jeans.
Function
The most important feature is lots of storage pockets. This bag can be sorted and can store many items on the front and back inside. It has 5 pockets on the front, a 500ml PET bottle holder, and a key chain. There are 3 sleeve pockets on the inside back where you can hang your laptop, glasses, etc.
The bottom is designed to protect against impacts from the bottom by inserting a 10 mm thick cushion between the outer and inner fabrics so that it is not visible.

※ The wrinkles in the canvas fabric are due to paraffin processing. Paraffin processing is a process in which wax is melted and soaked into the canvas fabric with heat. This makes the fabric water-repellent and gives it a stiff touch. When rubbed, white marks are left (chalk marks), and the product (Smith Bag) you receive may also have chalk marks. As you use it, the paraffin itself gradually changes, gradually softening and becoming more familiar. This is one of the unique features of paraffin processing, but if you mind it, you can make it less noticeable by ironing. When ironing, be sure to put a piece of cloth between iron and canvas. Don’t directly ironing canvas.
