Moreover, it is stronger than ordinary thread, which we felt would be a great advantage in creating delicate accessories.
The star of the piece is a ceramic bead of a cat in an adorable kimono.
The moment I saw these beads, I was inspired to create a design that combines traditional Japanese beauty with geometric patterns.
I thought that by utilizing the delicate luster of metallic threads, I could express the elegance of a kimono weave pattern.
The unique challenge of metallic threads.
While the use of metallic threads provided both beauty and strength, it also presented a new challenge in production.
At first, we tried a design that combined a single metallic thread with small beads and kitty beads.
However, although the metallic thread was beautiful, it was difficult to balance with the small beads, and the kitty beads lost their presence, so we decided to try another combination.
Next, we tried a design combining large beads and kitty beads on a single metallic thread.
In this combination, the balance between the large beads and the pussy beads was achieved, but the shine of the metallic thread was not fully utilized, and the overall balance of the design was lost.
Therefore, we finally decided to use three strands of metallic thread and combine the large beads with the kitty beads.
This combination succeeded in maximizing the brilliance of the metallic threads while increasing their strength.
The result is a piece with a unique beauty that shines delicately whenever it catches the light.
Fusion of calculation and design
This geometric design was also created using Excel VBA.
The placement and angles of each element were precisely calculated and the code was adjusted repeatedly to create a well-rounded pattern.
This design, which is not the product of chance but the result of calculations, is as precise as an elaborate textile, yet simple and sophisticated at the same time.
