MIDWAY has always hoped to publish a book about travel. It also hopes to introduce the stories behind the store or some cultural creators through the way of communication between travellers and locals based on the habit of our column. "Wakakusa WAKAKUSA" is a story about a new generation of inheritors of Kyoto's traditional family business, or a group of local people who run creative new-style shops in old machiyas. Through the detailed photos of Mr. Hideaki Hamada and the friend-like interviews with the interviewees, I shared many interesting things behind the shop. If these stories are connected together, it is a new route to learn about Kyoto from the perspective of MIDWAY. I hope everyone will bring this book as a guide. When you visit the store, you can read the story behind it. I will definitely make you treat them. Have a deeper experience to appreciate the new life surrounding the Kamo River.
