Genmaicha is made by blending roasted brown rice and tea leaves.
Genmaicha is a tea where you can enjoy not only the refreshing taste and rich flavor of sencha, but also the fragrant aroma of brown rice that rises from the moment you pour hot water into it.
We intentionally blended the blend with a higher proportion of brown rice than regular brown rice tea so that you can fully experience the unique aroma of brown rice tea, which brings a sense of nostalgia and calmness.
However, to ensure that the taste of the tea does not become diluted, we use a generous amount of Kabusecha, which is harvested in a tea plantation at an altitude of about 600m and has a rich flavor, and Ichibancha, which has a fresh taste.
If you brew it with boiling water, the fragrant aroma of brown rice will stand out even more.
Minokamo Tea House's brown rice tea emphasizes the aroma of brown rice while preserving the deliciousness of tea.
The tea leaves of brown rice tea tend to sink to the bottom of the bag or tea can more easily than the brown rice, so the trick to enjoying the tea is to make sure that the brown rice and tea leaves are well balanced in the teapot.
Use a teaspoon or teaspoon to scoop up the tea leaves from the bottom and place them in a teapot or teapot so that the ratio of brown rice to tea leaves is about 7:3. (If the ratio of brown rice is too high, the tea will be weak)
In hot weather, we recommend using "genmaicha on the rocks," which uses more tea leaves, waits a little longer (about 1 minute), and then pours into a glass with ice to quickly cool.
*Covered tea: Tea grown by covering the tea garden with covering materials such as cheesecloth for about a week (cover cultivation) to block sunlight. The green color of the tea leaves becomes darker because photosynthesis is suppressed and new buds grow. This tea is low in bitterness and high in umami.

① Pour well-boiled water (approx. 150ml) into a separate container such as a hot water cup, and wait for about 1 minute to cool (approx. 80°C).
② Meanwhile, put 2 teaspoons (about 5g) of tea leaves into the teapot.
③ When the steam starts to rise gently, pour the tea leaves into the teapot and wait for 1 minute.
④ Pour the tea slowly into the teacup without shaking the teapot.
If you pour it all the way to the last drop, the second brew will also be delicious.
(For the second infusion, the water temperature is slightly higher than the first infusion, around 90°C, and the waiting time is a few seconds.)
