I create my works based on the traditional Japanese craft of Ikkanbari. Ikkanbari is a method of covering a basket product with white washi paper, decorating it with colored washi paper or cloth, and finally applying persimmon tannins and water-based varnish. It is a craft that requires finishing. Many of the pieces use old fabrics and paper, but my work uses more everyday materials. The hand-drawn flower lover fabric is arranged on a yellow washi paper base. The inside is lined with Khaki patterned wrapping paper. A cloth drawstring bag is included so you can rest assured that the delicate materials will not get in the way. A small box is also included.
