This work is entirely handmade and measures approximately 27cm in length. The Qiniu, also known as the Ox Dragon, is the offspring of a dragon and a water buffalo. Legend has it that among all the dragon's children, the Qiniu is the most gentle-natured. It does not have a penchant for violence or aggression, but instead has a profound love for music. Its hearing is extraordinary, able to discern the sounds of all things. Frequently, it is depicted sitting on the head of a musical instrument, such as a qin, to appreciate the melodies created by plucking and bowing strings. Because of this, the statue of the Qiniu is often carved onto the head of musical instruments, symbolizing its love for music.
