This wheel thrown chawan was made in my small pottery workshop in Northern Taiwan. I have a rooftop studio that looks over the Yamingshan Mountains which are a constant source of inspiration.
This bowl was made from Japanese red clay and then an original smokey/grey/bluish glaze was applied.
This bowl was first woodfired and then given a second firing in a gas kiln.
The chawan feels comfortable in the cup of your hands.
There is a nice serendipitous blue glaze drop in the center of the bowl. It was a pleasant surprise.
Be the owner of a handmade chawan from the beaitiful island of Taiwan.
Detailed dimensions:
Height: 8.5 cm
Width: 14 cm
