Taiwan International Women's Film Festival
The Taiwan Women's Imaging Society was established in 2000 as a non-profit organization (formerly known as the Taipei Women's Imaging Society). The Society has established the "Women Make Waves Taiwan International Women's Film Festival" since 1993. It is the longest-running topical film festival in Taiwan and the first film festival in Asia to focus on women. Its purpose is to promote female directors and female-focused video creation, build an international exchange platform through film screenings and related activities, and introduce outstanding foreign films and national films with contemporary significance and gender ideology to domestic audiences.
