【The Local Nut】With Taiwan’s very own peanut species Black King Kong peanut as the main ingredient, Black King Kong Peanut Candy is made through the traditional candy-making technique from Tuku Township, Yunlin. This new handmade food is produced by stirring raw peanut in boiling liquid maltose under moderate heat for one hour. The time-consuming practice retains the anthocyanins in every Black King Kong peanut, while the slight bitter taste of anthocyanins and the subtle caramel fragrance give the product a more distinctive taste. The sweetness and crispiness of the candy with some fun elements is the display of the nostalgic taste. With the Formosa map as the main visual in the package design, in addition to marking Taiwan’s rich and diverse products, the revised the humanistic pictorials display the colors of the innocent fantasies that witness the vibrancy of the era.
